Solar Cooker competition:
Solar cooking is the simplest, safest, most convenient way to cook food without consuming fuels or heating up the kitchen. For millions of people around the world who cook over fires fueled by wood or dung, solar cooking is more than a choice-it is a blessing!
The Solar Energy Cook-off challenges students to use scientific know-how, creative thinking, teamwork and experimentation to design and build solar cookers.
Students who entered the competition worked tirelessly for the past 2 weeks to come up with their own version of solar cookers. With the expertise of My Nidal Shahin our DT technician, they refined their product to achieve the highest temperature possible in order to cook using their new inventions. Some of them were reaching up to 100 degrees Celcius!!
Our judges Mr Raouf Al Dabbas , Mr Martin Thompson, Mrs Saba Rabadi, Mrs Maha Haj Mohammed and Mr Yaaseen Hoozeer were very impressed with entries on display.
